In 2022, I directed my first short film for Colleen DeCourcy, creative legend and winner of the Lion of St. Mark’s award. It closed out her keynote that year and has since been featured internationally as a reason “why women are so integral in creative industries”. Watch it below.

Fun facts:

• We did not understand the assignment. At all. This was supposed to be a ~10 second film saying nice things to go in a three-minute montage. They bent the rules and played our film during Colleen’s seminar instead.

• The moral of this story is do not read instructions.

• From concept to filming to editing to coloring to scoring, this took two days. It was a very busy two days.

• It was 102 degrees out and I felt like I was going to die. I was not even the one in the lion suit. That’s how much we love you, Colleen.

• Kathy fell out of the tree.

• She’s ok.

• It was really hard to get Michael Douglas and Wayne Knight to reprise their roles in the Basic Instinct scene.
