Little Spoon

Handmade without the Hassle

Little Spoon is a cold-pressed baby food service delivered fresh to your door.

Making baby food sucks, and there are no compliments passed on to the chef, either. Little Spoon is a way to ensure ungrateful babies get nutritious baby food without wasting the time, energy, and sheer mental strain to make it.

(Awards and fun facts about this campaign are beneath the work so keep scrolling if you’re curious as to why I ate baby food for a week. It wasn’t method acting.)

The Food Demo from Hell

On April Fools, Little Spoon will host a food preparation demo. The demo will start out familiar: a charismatic chef with a microphone will play some pump-up music, awkwardly dance, and gather up a crowd. Once the crowd is sizable enough, the chef will begin the “easy” baby food tutorial. This is where the fun begins.

Instead of having everything secretly pre-made, the chef will painstakingly struggle through the tutorial in real time, getting increasingly flustered with the endless steps. Hidden cameras will live-stream the cringeworthy demo play out, seeing how long the chef can hold the poor shoppers as obligatory hostages.

A basket will be placed by the presentation with Little Spoon samples, encouraging customers to avoid the hassle and time of making baby food and order with us.

HelloFresh Partnership

Little Spoon partners with HelloFresh to eliminate another step from your ordering routine.

Fun Facts:

  • We wanted an actual baby appearance in our video, but no one responded to our Craiglist request (which is fair).

  • Michelle Muller, the amazing cofounder of Little Spoon, is a University of Texas alumnae. She helped immensely with our insight by providing consumer psychographics. She also hooked us up with some free swag and samples.

  • The samples were delicious.

  • We couldn’t afford an overhead tripod for our fake tutorial video. I became a human tripod by leaning over a wall shelf sitting precariously on two weighted Charmin boxes. (Retrospectively, I recognize this was very unsafe.) I was sore for days.
